I graduated in 1994 with a concentration in WGSS, and a major in Anthropology. My studies in the department were an incredibly important part of my Williams experience. The courses I took – particularly those that were cross-registered with my major — gave me my first experience of an active, caring and rigorous intellectual community. This incredible community provided me with intellectual confidence that has played a large part in my professional success.

It is interesting that you are contacting us now. In addition to the professional contexts in which I consider issues of gender and sexuality, I am thinking a lot about these issues as I raise my 14-month daughter. The experience of motherhood — particularly of a daughter — raises so many of the same questions we explored so many years ago!
