Economic Development in Africa

Economic Development
Africa

As an economic development practitioner, primarily working in Africa, my gender studies concentration has provided me with a “gender lens” with which to analyze intra-household allocations and transfers of resource (between men, women, girl-children, and boy-children).

I wish that a gender studies degree would have been open to me while attending Williams. Those who are afforded the opportunity to complete a Women’s (and Gender) Studies Major have an invaluable analytical tool when applied to the field of economic development.
