My research focuses on tests we use to measure cognitive functioning in the elderly. One area of particular interest has been on statistical techniques to address test bias in the face of demographic heterogeneity. So far we have not seen much signal related to gender, but there are a lot of measurement issues related to amounts and quality of education.

I am sure feminism has made me a better husband, a better doctor, and a better father than I otherwise would have been. I am delighted that Women’s Studies was available to me when I was at Williams; many of my best courses were either core Women’s Studies courses or were influenced in content and form by Women’s Studies.
